IRDN334 - The heart of the system

Every unit (Node) contains a highly intelligent, fully programmable communications

controller, which coupled with the unit's modular structure, offers true flexibility. The

intelligent controller ensures efficient and secure transmission with features such as,

Listen Before Transmit - saving wasted transmissions on shared bands;

Multiple Error Checks - ensuring data integrity at every stage and a proprietary Radio

Protocol - employing message acknowledgements and automatic retries, improving

transmission security.

Powerful repeater functions mean VersaNet2 can reach difficult locations not

possible with other point to point systems. Every VersaNet2 Node can act as a

repeater - even a low power Node and there is virtually no limit to the number of

repeater steps in a chain.

For locations beyond the range of the UHF radio, VersaNet2 has the capability of

using standard wire line modems or GSM. Using this facility, there is virtually no

limit to the coverage area of the system. Each Node can be configured to work with

either a UHF radio, a GSM modem or both. This is particularly useful to enable

GSM to be used as a back-up (secondary route) in case of failure of the radio link.

Using a GSM modem, SMS messages can also be sent for example, to an engineer

to advise of a problem.

For simple fault finding and commissioning VersaNet2 provides a powerful package of facilities ranging from simple LED indications of system status to the free issue

Windows based “Node Manager” which will give access to system configuration details, monitors I/O status and facilitates system tests.

No special knowledge, No special equipment

The design of VersaNet2 has been focused on ease of installation and set-up. No specialist knowledge or equipment is needed for a successful implementation as

free issue, Node Manager software helps you every step of the way. Node Manager tells you the channel occupancy,received signal strength, monitors the status of alarms,

inputs and outputs, and turns on remote units for signal tests.

No power? - No problem!

VersaNet2 is engineered to transmit Pulse, Analogue or Status signals from remote locations powered by battery or compact solar panel. New power save features allow you to control a digital output and even place a repeater node at an un-powered location.
